Nerf Longshotby ~tigersharkiv

A repaint of the Nerf Longshot. Maybe mines just broken, but it seems like my darts go farther and are more accurate without the barrel extension

Worked on this off and on for a while this last month, more so during finals as an excuse not to study.

Easiest part was probably sanding the logos off. Fair bit of spraying the gun and taping up areas not to be painted was involved. Final step was painting the details and dry brushing the gun.

Now about those finals....

Ah well of course I just see the imperfections but thanks for the compliment

It wasn't too difficult, I just taped off certain areas for spray paint and used careful strokes when detailing.

Actually, the behavior of your gun is rather typical. The barrel extension actually slows the bullet down, as unlike a real sniper rifle, the gas doesn't keep expanding behind the dart.

Great job

Nerf guns do fire further without the barrel... unless it's heavily modified/air powered. With a longer barrel, the dart just bounces around in the barrel, slowing it down. For a power upgrade, you might consider looking into a brass breach. A properly breaches Longshot is capable of over 100feet.
